The chain's first restaurant in the Kansai region, "Kawaten Sushi Ginza Onodera Kyoto Branch," which operates sushi restaurants in Japan and overseas, including Ginza, Tokyo, will open on July 28, 2023 in Shijoshitaru, Kawaramachi-dori, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto. A preview was held 726 days before the opening. You can easily enjoy domestic tuna fatty tuna in the luxurious interior.

"Katenzushi Ginza Onodera Kyoto branch" is about 240 square meters. There are 38 seats at the 12-meter-long Japanese cypress counter, and a total of 54 seats including private rooms. The restaurant will be operated by ONODERA Food Service (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo), a restaurant management company in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo. The company is a group company of companies that jointly won a successful bid for tuna from Oma, Aomori prefecture in January this year at the Toyosu market in Tokyo. The conveyor belt sushi restaurant of the same food service is the second one in Japan following Omotesando in Tokyo.

There are about 70 types of tuna on the menu, such as Otoro (920 yen) and red meat (410 yen) procured by Yamayuki directly from Toyosu Market in Tokyo, Kohada (320 yen), and conger eel (480 yen) unique to Kyoto. There are rows of sushi. Customers order sushi using a touch panel, and it is served on the express lane.

The interior was designed by designer Yasumichi Morita. The floor is covered with tiles made from Awaji tiles, and the ceiling has a large lampshade that doubles as an object. Traditional nail covers are often used as decorations on the cap, creating a sense of luxury.
Shinji Nagao, president of ONODERA Food Service, said, "Kyoto is a place where people from all over the world gather. We want to provide smiles and fun times through sushi."
