The pale pink flowers of the Japanese lily are in full bloom at the Sasae Atago Mountain Wildflower Garden in Hiyoshi-cho, Nantan City, Kyoto Prefecture. The Japanese lily flowering festival will begin on June 14, 2025, and continue through June 15.

The wild Japanese lilies, which began blooming around June 10, later than usual, bloom all at once, as if to coincide with the flowering festival, and visitors are pointing their smartphone cameras at them. They can be enjoyed until late June. Mountain hydrangeas have also begun to bloom with white and blue flowers, adding color to the garden.
It was raining on the first day, but some visitors enjoyed the flowers through the glass at the cafe that opened in April, and Ohagi, Zenzai, and coffee are also available for purchase. There is also a band performance on the stage, and visitors can experience cutting logs with a chainsaw.
A local man (71 years old) from Nishikyo Ward, Kyoto City said with satisfaction, "I come here every year. This year there were lots of bamboo lilies in bloom and it was beautiful."
10 am to 4 pm. The garden will be open from June 16th onwards during the bamboo lilies blooming season.
