A "Food Kyoto" information base that promotes agricultural and fishery products in Kyoto Prefecture has opened at the city central wholesale market No. 1 market in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City. As a commemorative event, there was also a sale of processed products using seafood and fruits from the prefecture, which tourists seemed to be curious about.

It was established jointly by the prefectural government, which is working on the tourism promotion project "Food Kyoto," which promotes the appeal of the prefecture through food, and the city of Kyoto, which operates the market. It is located in the corner of the fisheries building observation area that opened in April, and is lined with vending machines that sell dried foods.
On this day, about 40 items were lined up, including mackerel jerky, rice crackers made with Sansho from Ayabe, and dorayaki made with Uji matcha. A local woman who visited was satisfied, saying, "There are many things that you can't easily buy even in Kyoto. I was able to buy rare things."
Hours of operation are 5am-5pm except Wednesdays.
