Heavy rain has been falling in Kyoto City since the early morning of June 18, 2024, and the tourist destination of Arashiyama (Ukyo Ward, Nishikyo Ward, Kyoto City) is sparsely populated. A group of six junior high school third-year students on a school trip from Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture, said, "It's raining, but we have to get excited," as they posed for a commemorative photo at the east end of Togetsukyo Bridge. They said they would then tour the bamboo forest of Sagano before heading to Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine.
