京都市から大津市までの琵琶湖疏水を走る「びわ湖疏水船」の2024年春の運行が3月8日に始まるのを前に2024年3月27日、試乗会が行われた。

昨年まで三井寺－蹴上間の約7・8キロだった運航区間は大津港－蹴上間の約9・3キロに延長されたほか、大津閘門（こうもん）と呼ばれる水位調整の水門を船に乗ったまま通過する様子が公開された。

A test ride event was held on March 27, 2024, ahead of the spring 2024 service of the ''Biwa Lake Canal Boat,'' which runs on Lake Biwa Canal from Kyoto City to Otsu City, starting on March 8.

Until last year, the operating section between Miidera and Keage was about 7.8 kilometers, but the route was extended to about 9.3 kilometers between Otsu Port and Keage. A video of the ship passing through was released.
