京都市左京区の下鴨神社で2023年8月7日の夜、立秋前夜に無病息災や長寿を願う夏越（なごし）の伝統行事「矢取り神事」が営まれた。男性たちが御手洗（みたらし）池に立てられた御幣を付けた50本の斎串（いぐし）を、水しぶきを上げて奪い合った。
