強い寒気が入った2024年1月8日の朝、京都市内で初雪を観測した。平年より28日遅かった。京都市北区や左京区の市街地では、民家の屋根がうっすらと雪が積もった。京都市左京区の宝が池公園では、国立京都国際会館と宝が池の背後に見える比叡山が雪化粧し、朝焼けに浮かび上がっていた。

On the morning of January 8, 2024, when strong cold air hit, the first snow was observed in Kyoto City. This was 28 days later than normal. In the urban areas of Kyoto City's Kita Ward and Sakyo Ward, the roofs of private houses were covered with a light layer of snow. At Takaragaike Park in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City, the Kyoto International Conference Center and Mt. Hiei, which can be seen behind Takaragaike, were covered in snow and stood out in the morning glow.
