The event, which was held at the Yanagimachi Chamber in Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture to coincide with the Doll's Festival in March, will end this year due to factors such as the aging of the participants. The exhibition of expensive Hina dolls, nicknamed ``Ferrari Bina,'' and the kimono dressing experience for children were popular. It will be held from March 1st to March 3rd, and the members are appealing for people to come, saying, ``We want it to end on a lively note.''
The Willow Association, made up of volunteer residents, started in 2006. The following year, in 2007, it was held as part of the ''Kameyama Castle Doll's Festival'' along with shopping streets in Kameoka City and the former Tamba Kameyama Castle Town. However, the Kameyama Castle Hinamatsuri ended last year, and the Willow Club has decided to hold it alone this year for the last time.
The meeting room is decorated with hina dolls and props from the late Edo and Showa periods that were owned by residents or given to them by people from other towns. One of the highlights this year is the female and male dolls created by puppeteer Heizo Oki in 1890. It has the same value as a luxury car and is called a ''Ferrari Vina''.
Junko Nakabayashi, 72, a member of the Willow Club, said with a laugh, ''Since it was the last time, she brought out all the dolls she owned and lined them up tightly.''
For the kimono dressing experience, we provide kimonos and dresses. Enjoy taking commemorative photos at the meeting hall and the town, where the atmosphere of the past remains. 10am to 4pm. All are free.
