日本三大祭りの一つ、祇園祭の前祭（さきまつり）のハイライトとなる山鉾巡行が2025年7月17日の午前、京都市内中心部で始まった。京都市内は朝から雨が降っており、各山鉾はビニールシートで懸装品を覆うなどして「雨仕様」で出発した。
