On the evening of April 12, 2026, a coming-of-age ceremony for boys, known as the "Eboshi Ceremony," was held in the Shizuhara district of Shizuichi, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City. Five 16-year-old boys, dressed in traditional kamishimo attire, faced local adults acting as Shinto priests in a community hall and exchanged sake from a cup, signifying their recognition as members of adult society.
