祇園祭の後祭（あとまつり）の山鉾巡行が2023年7月24日、京都市中心部で行われた。強い日差しを浴びながら、華やかな懸装（けそう）品で飾られた11基の山鉾が、都大路を悠々と進んだ。沿道からは約5万人（午前11時半現在、京都府警調べ）が見守った。

The Yamaboko Junko parade of the Gion Matsuri Atomatsuri was held in central Kyoto on July 24, 2023. Basking in the strong sunlight, 11 yamaboko decorated with gorgeous ornaments moved leisurely along Miyakooji. About 50,000 people (as of 11:30 a.m., according to Kyoto Prefectural Police) watched from the roadside.
