The "Kyoto Kumihama Doll Festival" has recently begun at the Inaba family home, a tourist facility in Kumihama-cho, Kyotango City, Kyoto Prefecture, to allow people to enjoy an early Doll's Festival atmosphere. Approximately 200 bamboo dolls handmade by local residents are on display. Palace dolls from the mid-Edo period that have been passed down through the Inaba family also decorate the venue.

The NPO "Exciting Kumihama Creation Association" holds the event every year. This year marks the 21st time.
The bamboo dolls are made from green bamboo cut in the city and processed into cylinders measuring 20 to 50 centimeters in length, and male and female dolls elaborately crafted by local women are placed on them. Some bamboo dolls have designs carved into the cylinders that are illuminated by light-emitting diodes (LEDs). They are also available for sale at 3,300 to 5,800 yen each.
The tatami room is also decorated with a gorgeous Goten Hina doll (170 cm wide, 55 cm deep) modeled after the Shishinden hall of the Kyoto Imperial Palace, which was the trousseau of the wife of the 12th head of the Inaba family, telling of the Inaba family's former prosperity.
Until April 3, 2025. Closed on Wednesdays. Admission is free.
