On July 23, 2023, the Motomiya Festival was held at Fushimi Inari Taisha in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto. Thousands of paper lanterns and lanterns are lit at night, creating a magical atmosphere. Andon paintings donated by various artists were also exhibited.

The Hongu Matsuri is an annual summer event that attracts worshipers from all over the country. From 6:00 pm on July 22nd, the Yoimiya Festival was held, and Shinto priests lit about 350 lanterns scattered around Mt. Inari. A large number of lanterns dedicated by believers were also placed around the temple grounds and lit from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm on both July 22nd and 23rd.
The lantern paintings were dedicated by artists of Japanese paintings, Western paintings, dyeing and weaving, and ceramics, mainly in Kyoto, and were made into lanterns, and they were made to appear on summer evenings. This year, we received about 400 paintings of foxes and thousand torii gates associated with Fushimi Inari Taisha, as well as cool morning glories and green maple leaves.
