The Kyoto Prefecture city of Kameoka celebrated " Dog Day" on Nov. 1 with a charming new mayor -- a golden retriever named Maggie.

Maggie, a 5-year-old public relations dog for the Kansai Guide Dogs For The Blind Association, was appointed "Mayor Dog for a Day" and took on duties with gentle enthusiasm.
