On August 14th, ahead of the Gozan no Okuribi, a traditional bonfire event to send off the spirits of ancestors welcomed during the Obon festival, which will be held on the night of August 16th, 2025, at various mountains in Kyoto City, donations of gomaki (sticks with large characters) began at Yagura Shrine near the Ginkakuji Temple, a World Heritage Site in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City, and citizens entrusted their wishes to the event.
