祇園祭の函谷（かんこ）鉾保存会（京都市下京区）は2024年6月16日の夜、清水寺（京都市東山区）の本堂外陣（げじん）で囃子（はやし）を奉納演奏した。稚児人形を江戸時代に制作した仏師と、清水寺の主な仏像を制作した仏師が同じ仏所の流れをくんでいる縁で、清水寺の守護神にちなんだ曲を暮れゆく境内に響かせた。

On the evening of June 16, 2024, the Kanko Hoko Preservation Society (Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City) of the Gion Festival performed a dedication of musical accompaniment in the outer sanctuary of the main hall of Kiyomizu-dera Temple (Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City). As the sculptor who created the child dolls in the Edo period and the sculptor who created the main Buddhist statues at Kiyomizu-dera Temple are from the same Buddhist temple, a song associated with the guardian deity of Kiyomizu-dera Temple reverberated through the temple grounds as dusk fell.
