廃線となった鉄道の高架上に使わなくなった特急サンダーバードをつり上げる作業が2025年4月28日の未明、JR梅小路京都西駅（京都市下京区）の南側で行われた。ピンク色に塗り替えられた重さ25トンの車体がライトに照らされて空中に浮かび、鉄道ファンを興奮させた。

Work to hoist a disused Thunderbird express train onto an elevated track of an abandoned railway took place in the early hours of April 28, 2025, south of JR Umekoji Kyoto-Nishi Station (Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City). The 25-ton train, repainted pink, was illuminated by lights and floated in the air, exciting railway fans.
