水に足を浸して無病息災を願う御手洗（みたらし）祭が2025年7月18日、下鴨神社（京都市左京区）で始まった。朝から大勢の参拝者が訪れ、ひんやりとした池の水に膝下までつかり、ひとときの涼を感じていた。御手洗祭は7月27日までの午前9時～午後8時。

The Mitarashi Festival, where people soak their feet in water to pray for good health, began on July 18, 2025 at Shimogamo Shrine (Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City). Many worshippers came from the morning, wading up to their knees in the cool water of the pond and enjoying a moment of coolness. The Mitarashi Festival will be held from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm until July 27.
