祇園祭の宵山期間に、祇園甲部と祇園東の芸妓・舞妓らがもてなす「祇園大茶会」が2026年7月15日の夜、京都市東山区四条通花見小路東入ルで始まった。「歩行者天国」となった四条通の茶席で、参加者は祭りの夜の雰囲気を楽しんだ。

On the evening of July 15, 2026, the "Gion Grand Tea Gathering"—hosted by geisha and maiko from the Gion Kobu and Gion Higashi districts—began on Shijo-dori Street (just east of Hanamikoji) in Kyoto's Higashiyama Ward. Participants enjoyed the festive atmosphere of the evening at tea seating set up along Shijo-dori, which had been converted into a pedestrian-only zone.
