2025年の世相を表す今年の漢字に「熊（くま）」が選ばれた。京都市東山区の清水寺で2025年12月12日、日本漢字能力検定協会（京都市東山区）が発表した。同寺で森清範貫主が揮毫（きごう）した。

"Kuma" (bear) has been chosen as the kanji of the year to represent the state of the world in 2025. The Japan Kanji Aptitude Testing Foundation (Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City) announced this on December 12, 2025, at Kiyomizu-dera Temple, a World Heritage Site in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City. The calligraphy was written by the temple's chief priest, Seihan Mori.
