The annual Cherry Blossom Viewing Festival will be held from March 22 to April 6, 2025 at the Former Main Building of the Kyoto Prefectural Government Office (Kamigyo Ward, Kyoto City), a National Important Cultural Property. Western-style sweets and tea will be served in the main building, and for the first time, the cherry blossoms will be lit up at night in the courtyard.

The Cherry Blossom Viewing Festival is held every year to help people become familiar with the Former Main Building, which was built in 1904. Last year, an event was planned in the main building to enjoy Japanese sweets and tea, but this year it will be transformed into a Western-style event titled the Afternoon Tea Event, and will take place from 1 to 5 pm on March 22 and 23.

The cherry blossom illumination will take place from 5 to 7 pm from March 26 to April 3, and seven cherry trees of six varieties, including weeping cherry trees, will be illuminated. Other events include opera, jazz, and classical concerts, Japanese dance, and a pre-war commemorative stamp exhibition.

Admission is free, but some events, such as the Afternoon Tea Event, require a fee.
