The annual Kamogawa Teahouse event, which aims to familiarize people with the Kamogawa River while learning about the beautification activities, began on April 5, 2025 on the left bank of the Kamogawa River, west of the Kyoto Prefectural Botanical Gardens in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City. In the mild spring weather, visitors enjoyed the red weeping cherry blossoms and tea. It will run until April 6.

The 51st event is organized by the volunteer groups "Kamogawa Beautification Association" and the "Kyoto Kamogawa Lions Club."

At the tea ceremony, local residents and tourists enjoyed sencha tea and hanami dango while gazing at the red weeping cherry blossoms and the flowing river. There was also a panel exhibition introducing the progress of the Kamogawa River beautification activities, and koto and shakuhachi performances. Visitors spent a relaxing time listening to the beautiful sounds.
