Hot air balloons that usually fly through the sky emitted a fantastic light that illuminated the dark night. A special event of the "Kyoto Kameoka Balloon Festival" was held on the night of April 5, 2025 at Hozugawa Waterfront Park in Hozu-cho, Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture. A large number of spectators were fascinated by the flickering flame illusion.
Competition pilots from all over the country launched a total of 15 hot air balloons on the ground.
The performance began just after 7 p.m., and the burners spurted out flames in time with signals and music, illuminating the colorfully patterned spheres with an orange glow.
According to Kameoka City, which is also the festival's executive committee, the number of visitors was about 13,500, about 1.5 times that of the previous year.
Under the hazy moonlit night, people walked near the hot air balloons, looked at the whole view from the riverbed, and enjoyed the light show in their own way.
