The autumn leaves are at their peak at Maizuru Natural Cultural Park in Taneji, Maizuru City, Kyoto Prefecture, and the Autumn Leaves Garden opened on November 21, 2025. Visitors took photos of the crimson-hued trees and enjoyed the deepening autumn.
The Autumn Leaves Garden features Japanese maples extending from both sides of the promenade, allowing visitors to enjoy the autumn leaves as if walking through a tunnel. According to the city's Civil Engineering Department, the sudden cold weather this year has caused the leaves to change color earlier than expected.
An 89-year-old woman from Nara City, who was so impressed by the hydrangea garden that she visited again in the summer, said, "The other spots had already seen the leaves, so it was perfect. It was worth the four-hour trip."
With bear sightings becoming a nationwide problem, the park's closing time has been brought forward by 30 minutes, with the last entry at 3:30 pm and the park closing at 4:30 pm. Staff members will be making regular patrols, and other measures have been taken, such as spraying bamboo vinegar, which bears dislike, and playing the radio constantly.
The park is open until December 7th. The park opens from 9am. Admission costs 500 yen for adults and 250 yen for elementary and junior high school students.
