The Historic Site of Odoi's Maple Garden, home to approximately 350 maple trees, is in full bloom at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, a World Heritage Site in Kyoto's Kamigyo Ward. Families and foreign tourists flocked to the garden, captivated by the gradations of red and yellow.
You can enjoy the autumn garden from a variety of angles, from gazing up at the tunnel of autumn leaves overhead to surveying it from a high vantage point. According to Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, the colors are vibrant this year.
Many people lined up at the vermilion-painted arched bridge, Uguisu Bridge, hoping to take photos with the autumn leaves in the background. A woman in her 30s, who was visiting with her family, smiled and said, "They sparkle and are beautiful when the sunlight hits them."
