Hokongo-in Temple in Kyoto's Ukyo Ward, known as the "Lotus Temple," will hold a lotus viewing event called "Kanren-e" on July 8, 2023. Many visitors come to see the large white and pink flowers.

At the temple, there is a ``Chisen Kaiyushiki Pure Land Garden'' that imitates the Pure Land, and about 90 varieties of lotus are planted in pots on the side of the passages within the precincts. The gates are opened earlier this time of year so that visitors can see the flowers blooming beautifully in the early morning.
