From August 25th, the city of Kyoto will start accepting general reservations for the autumn season of the Lake Biwa Canal, a tourist boat that connects Kyoto and Otsu.

The Lake Biwa Canal Boat will be operated in spring and autumn every year from 2018 by the "Lake Biwa Canal Area Attraction Creation Council" (secretariat/Kyoto City Tourism Association) created in Kyoto City and Otsu City. The 7.8-kilometer route between Keage and Otsu will operate for 47 days from October 1 to November 30 this year. The price of the boarding ticket (5,000 yen to 8,000 yen) changes depending on the schedule. Every year, autumn has a high boarding rate, and the high season weekends and holidays are fully booked.
