From September 16th to 18th, 2023, the Komaneko Festival, an annual event related to cats and Tango Chirimen, will be held in the area of Kotohira Shrine (Izumi, Mineyama-cho) in Mineyama-cho, Kyotango City, Kyoto Prefecture, which is home to rare "koma-neko" cats. ' will be held. A variety of events are planned, including a handicraft market, Kyogen performances, ``Neko Mask'' and ``AR Stamp Rally.''

Volunteers have been conducting this event every year since 2016 to revitalize the region.
Starting at 5pm on September 16th, there will be a dedication performance of original Kyogen by Kyogen master Zenkyu Kawata and others in front of the main hall of the shrine. From 10 a.m. on September 17th, original Komaneko Festival-only amulets (1,000 yen, limited to 222) will be awarded in front of the shrine office. There will also be a ``Konpira Handmade Market,'' selling miscellaneous goods and accessories with cat motifs, and a ``Cat's Eye'' exhibition, where 365 cat-themed figurines will be on display and for sale.

From 10 a.m. on September 16th to 18th, an art exhibition with the theme of "Tango Cats" titled "Otango Nekoha-ten" will be held at the Tanaka Furniture Gallery in Shirogane, Mineyama Town.
