The regional art festival ''Kizugawa Art 2023'' (Kizugawa City, Kyoto Prefecture) has opened, and visitors and residents are enjoying an autumn stroll. A variety of art works appear within the venue's three areas: Ichisaka, Umemidai, and Kunimidai, turning the entire town into an ''art museum.''

This year, with the theme of "Playing with the Future," the town will be adorned with the works of 15 exhibiting artists, including sculptures and paintings. There will also be art created by local children together with artists. The exhibits will be held at 13 locations, including the Kansai Institute for Photon Science and Technology (Umemidai), Rohto Research Village Kyoto (Kunimidai), Kunimidai Park, and Herasaka Shrine (Ichisaka).

At Shonin Kehira Ruins Park (Kunimidai), solar hot air balloons made with aurora film by Mr. Akito Okunaka from Kamo-cho, Kizugawa City were floating and rolling on the grass in the wind. Water pillows were placed around the area, and children were lying comfortably and enjoying the feel of the water.

Mr. Okunaka said, ''This work is about the balloons seen from the water pillow.Enjoy the view of the balloons floating in the sky.''

Until November 19th. 10am to 4pm. On the 11th and 12th, related events such as workshops, tours, and a kitchen car marche will be held. In addition, some areas will be lit up from 6pm to 9pm. A free shuttle bus is also available.
