In the Yodo area of Fushimi Ward, Kyoto City, the early-blooming Kawazu cherry blossoms are at their peak. On March 2, 2024, tourists were captivated by the early spring scenery amidst the cold weather with light snowfall.

According to the Yodo Sakura Cultivation Association, a citizen group that plants and cares for trees, a total of about 300 trees have been planted mainly in the Yodo green area along the waterway, as well as in Yodo Castle Ruins Park and the rotary in front of Keihan Yodo Station. This year, the flowers bloom about a week later, and can be enjoyed until late March.
