An illumination event to promote the G1 horse races, Shuka Sho and Kikuka Sho, to be held at Kyoto Racecourse (Fushimi Ward, Kyoto City), will begin on October 3, 2024, at Maruyama Park (Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City). The event was previewed to the press on October 2, with the park decorated with light displays featuring horses, chrysanthemums, cosmos and other motifs.
A screen was set up in front of the wisteria trellis, onto which images of galloping horses and autumn leaves were projected. There was also a spot where visitors could take commemorative photos in a position that made them appear to be enveloped in the images.
The trees and ground in the park were also lit up in a variety of colors with lanterns and laser lights. There was also an event that included the sound of horses neighing and hooves. The event runs from 5:30 pm to 8 pm until October 9, and is free of charge.
