On October 26, 2024, Kyoto Tango Railway began operating a train wrapped in the design of Sanrio's popular character Pom Pom Purin. The train, decorated with the line's tourist attractions such as Amanohashidate and the Red Brick Warehouse and its adorable friends, runs through the Tango area in autumn and winter. Miyazu Station (Miyazu City, Kyoto Prefecture), where Pom Pom Purin rushed to, was crowded with parents and children taking commemorative photos and seeing the train off.

The collaboration train is part of a project to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the opening of the former Japanese National Railways Miyazu Line. It will run four to six times a day between Nishi-Maizuru Station (Maizuru City) and Toyooka Station (Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture) until January 25, 2025. The train body is painted with images of passengers enjoying a trip to Tango, including eating seafood dishes.

When the collaboration train arrived at the Miyazu Station platform just after noon, children and fans wearing merchandise welcomed it with cheers.
The operating schedule is published on the Tango Railway website.
