The 44th Japan Bonsai Taikan Exhibition, Japan's largest event for displaying and selling bonsai and suiseki, began on November 22, 2024 at Miyako Messe in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City. Bonsai fans from Japan and abroad came to the exhibition and enjoyed the art expressed in the pots in their own way.

This year marks the first time that a "demonstration" will be held, with a different bonsai artist performing each day. On the first day, the world-famous Kimura Masahiko made an appearance. Visitors followed Kimura Masahiko's fingertips with serious expressions, trying to burn the master's skills into their eyes. Tickets for the demonstration on this day were so popular that they sold out, and there are only a few tickets left for November 23rd and 24th.
The seat decorations on display were not only from Japan, but also from Asia, Europe, the United States, and other countries. The submitted works were reviewed in advance, and Naotaro Hikita (Osaka) was selected for the Prime Minister's Award. Until November 25th. Admission is free.
