京都市下京区の東本願寺と西本願寺で2024年12月20日、一年のほこりや汚れを落とす年末恒例の「おすす払い」があった。門徒や僧侶らが竹の棒で畳をたたく音が、御影堂や阿弥陀堂に響いた。

On December 20, 2024, the traditional end-of-year "Osusubarai" ritual to wash away dust and dirt from the year took place at Higashi Honganji and Nishi Honganji temples in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City. The sounds of followers and monks hitting the tatami mats with bamboo sticks echoed throughout the Goei-do and Amida-do halls.
