今年は中東情勢の悪化に伴うナフサ不足により、型の洗浄や塗料に混ぜる溶剤が手に入りづらくなった。影響が心配されたが、6月ごろから徐々に供給が回復。予定通り約2500個の納品を見込む。

Production of the *komagata* lanterns—an essential element of the Gion Festival—is entering its final, busiest phase ahead of the main event. At Okugawa Chochin-ten, a long-established shop in Kyoto’s Shimogyo Ward founded in the mid-Edo period, red and white lanterns are packed tightly together as artisans quietly pour their energy into the finishing touches.
Earlier this year, a naphtha shortage caused by the deteriorating situation in the Middle East made it difficult to procure the solvents needed for cleaning molds and mixing into paints. While there were concerns about the impact, supplies gradually recovered starting around June, and the shop expects to deliver approximately 2,500 lanterns as planned.

올해는 중동 정세의 악화에 따른 나프타 부족으로 형의 세정이나 도료에 섞는 용제가 손에 들어오기 어려워졌다. 영향이 걱정되었지만, 6월경부터 서서히 공급이 회복. 예정대로 약 2500개의 납품을 전망한다.
