The Kyoto Marathon 2025 (hosted by Kyoto City, the Kyoto Athletics Association, and co-hosted by the Kyoto City Athletics Association, the Kyoto Shimbun, and others) was held in Kyoto City on February 16, 2025, with the participation of approximately 16,000 runners. People of all ages and genders ran along the course, which allowed them to experience the charms of the ancient capital, including the Seven World Heritage Sites, the Five Mountains, and the scenery along the Kamo River.

The event began in 2012, and this is the 14th time it has been held, including an online race due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 42.195 km marathon, a pair relay race in which two people pass a sash, and a 6.1 km wheelchair race were held, and the participants were warmly cheered on by the large crowds that gathered along the road.
The marathon started at Takebishi Stadium Kyoto (Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City). The runners finished with smiles on their faces at the finish line in front of Heian Shrine (Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City).
