The hydrangeas in the grounds of Fujimori Shrine (Fukakusa Toriizaki-cho, Fushimi-ku, Kyoto City) are in full bloom. With the rainy season upon us, the large, vibrant flowers of blue, white, and pink are blooming in all their glory.

The 4,900-square-meter Hydrangea Garden is home to around 3,500 plants of 40 different varieties, including Annabelle and Lapwing hydrangeas. Two years ago, the garden was renovated to accommodate barrier-free access by removing the steps and stepping stones.
Visitors enjoyed taking photos with their cameras and smartphones as they strolled leisurely through the garden in the light rain.
The garden is scheduled to be open until the end of June. Limited-edition temple seals are available during the period. The Hydrangea Festival is held every weekend, and on June 15th, there will be a taiko drum and kemari offering.

Entry is 500 yen for junior high school students and older. 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
