On August 31, 2025, a photo shoot for the program for the autumn dance performance "Gion Odori" (November 1st-10th) in Gion Higashi, one of Kyoto's geisha districts, took place at the Gion Kaikan in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City. Geisha and maiko posed in their gorgeous stage costumes, getting ready for the big day.

This year's performance will feature a fan-themed piece, "Suehirogari Ogi no Soshi." Sixteen geisha and maiko will take turns performing, performing six scenes, including "Ogi no Mato," based on Nasu no Yoichi, famous for his role in the Battle of Yashima during the Genpei War, and "Ogicho," which depicts a spring landscape using fans to form butterflies. The finale will conclude with a group dance of "Gion Higashi Kouta."

Maiko Tomi Eri (20 years old) said, "The motif of this performance is fans, so I hope you will pay attention to the patterns, colors and movements."
There will be two performances every day, at 1:30pm and 4pm. All seats are reserved and cost 6,000 yen (7,000 yen with tea ceremony). Gion Higashi Kabukai: 075 (561) 0224.
