The Yugiri Festival, commemorating Yugiri tayu, one of the famous geisha of the Edo period, was held at Seiryoji Temple (Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City) on November 8, 2025. Under clear autumn skies, many worshippers gazed upon the tayu in her dazzling attire.

Yugiri tayu was a native of the Saga region. She gained popularity in Shinmachi, Osaka, for her beauty and skills, but is said to have died at the young age of 26.

A memorial service was held in the main hall on this day, and Sakuragi tayu from Shimabara performed a dance. Afterwards, a tayu procession took place around the temple grounds, with worshippers eagerly taking photos and videos of the tayu.

This marks the 62nd Yugiri Festival.
