On the morning of December 20th, 2025, a limited express train collided with a light vehicle at a railroad crossing near Shin-Hosono Station on the Kintetsu Kyoto Line in Seika Town, Kyoto Prefecture. Following this accident, the Kyoto Prefectural Police Kizu Station announced on the afternoon of December 20th that one body had been found in the driver's seat of the light vehicle at the scene. Kizu Police Station is currently investigating the body's identity.

In this accident, a limited express train bound for Kashihara Jingu-mae collided with a passenger car. The passenger car also collided with the side of an oncoming express train bound for Kyoto, causing the car to catch fire. According to Kintetsu and Seika Town Fire Department, there were approximately 100 passengers on the limited express and approximately 480 on the express, but no passengers were injured.
