In Kyoto City, heavy snowfall began shortly after 9:00 AM on February 8, blurring visibility, with northern Kyoto City areas, such as Kita Ward, seeing an accumulation of 5-10 centimeters of snow. According to the observatory, as of 10:00 AM on February 8, 4 centimeters of snow had been observed in Nakagyo Ward, central Kyoto City.

Snowfall also rapidly increased in northern Kyoto Prefecture, with snow accumulations as of 10:00 AM reaching 54 centimeters in Mineyama Town, Kyotango City, 40 centimeters in Miyama Town, Nantan City, and 23 centimeters in Maizuru City.

Snowfall in Kyoto Prefecture is expected to continue into the morning of February 9, with further accumulation expected during the day in Kyoto City.
