As the Gion Festival float procession will be held in July for the first time in three years, details for the events of the communities operating the floats during the "Yoiyama" period prior to the procession and for the temporary traffic restrictions by Kyoto Prefectural Police had been determined by June 17. As had been done until 2019, the neighborhoods of the float operating communities will be vehicle-free areas on the evenings of Yoiyoiyama (July 15) and Yoiyama (July 16) of "Saki-matsuri," or earlier festival of the Gion Festival.
