On August 16, 2023, before the Gozan Okuribi, a traditional Kyoto event to send off the spirits of ancestors who welcomed the Obon festival, in the hometown of Mt. On the 13th of the month, a Shinosho was set up, and in the scorching heat, citizens and tourists dedicated gomaki with their wishes written on them.

The Torii Kata Preservation Society and the Torii Honcho Neighborhood Association open it every year in the square in front of Hachitai Jizo in Saga Torii Honkosaka-cho, Ukyo Ward. After receiving prayers from the chief priest of Adashino Nenbutsu-ji Temple, the dedicated gomagi is carried up the mountain and set alight on the day of the bonfire.
The torii-shaped Shinosho will be open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm until August 15th, and from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on August 16th. Reception of gomagi may change or be canceled depending on the impact of Typhoon No. 7, which is expected to approach on August 15.
