In the Kizu River downstream of the Kasagi Ohashi Bridge in Kasagi Town, Kyoto Prefecture, a floating lantern ceremony was held to pray for the souls of the victims of the Minamiyamashiro Flood and other water accidents, as well as their ancestors. The faint light of candles colored the river at night.

Hosted by the Kasagi Town Tourism Association, it is held every year. This year, it was postponed to August 17 due to Typhoon No. The participation of general tourists was cancelled, and more than a dozen officers of the association held the event.
On this day, after the chief priest of Kasagi Temple recited the sutras, the people involved gathered at the Kasagi Campsite riverbank. About 200 lanterns were gently floated on the river where the flow became faster after the typhoon. Colorful lanterns with words such as "Ancestor Memorial" and "Home Safety" drifted into the darkness.
