On January 8, 2024, when the first snow fell in Kyoto City, the entire area of Togetsukyo Bridge, which spans Kyoto City's Ukyo Ward and Nishikyo Ward, was covered in snow.

There was a light layer of snow on the pillars and railings of the bridge with the name ''Togetsukyo'' written on it, and the sidewalks of the bridge were frozen. The roofs of shops on the north bank of the bridge were dyed white.

People with cameras gathered around the bridge, taking pictures of the first snow that fell about a month late.

According to the Osaka Regional Meteorological Observatory, the first snow was observed at 1:05 a.m. on the 8th at the Kyoto Local Meteorological Observatory in Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto City.
