Harumeki, a type of early-blooming cherry tree, has been planted on the north side of the former Seitoku Junior High School building in Takatsuji-dori Muromachi Nishiri Ru, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, and is now at its peak. Many people stopped to watch the early arrival of spring.

According to the website of the Harumeki Foundation (Minamiashigara City, Kanagawa Prefecture), which aims to popularize Harumeki, Harumeki is a cherry tree that was registered as a variety in 2000. It blooms early and is said to be the cherry blossom that sends graduates home.

Four trees have been planted along Takatsuji Street at Former Seitoku Junior High School, and all of them are at their best. Many people gathered around me, speaking various languages, and taking photos of the cherry blossoms, which are a slightly darker pink than the Yoshino cherry trees.
