As if being handed a baton by the falling cherry blossoms, the Japanese cypress trees are blooming yellow flowers one after another beneath them. Yamabuki flowers are in full bloom at Chohoji Temple in Nagaokakyo City, Kyoto Prefecture.
At Chohoji Temple, in collaboration with the Nagaokakyo City Tourism Association, by 2014, the garden had been planted with plants and a promenade, etc. At this time, many camellias were also planted, and there are currently about 350 camellias.
Chief Priest Nobutaka Kawanishi (40 years old) of Choho-ji Temple said, "This year, several flowers bloomed as soon as April started, and I was surprised at how early they bloomed than ever before.The blooms stopped when the cold returned, but now the temperature has warmed up again. It rose and started to bloom all at once." The best time to see them is until around April 20th.
