An exhibition of the city's flower, azalea, by enthusiasts from Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture, began on May 24, 2024 at Galleria Kameoka in Abobe-cho, Kameoka City. Potted plants that have been grown with care despite the bad weather are now in full bloom.

It is held every year by the Kameoka City Flower Lover's Association, which is made up of citizens, and the City Urban Green Flower Association. This is the 59th time, about 120 pots will be lined up in the lobby.
The winning ''competition flower'' plant, which was grown from seedlings distributed four years ago, exhibits splendid branches and beautiful flower colors. The long, slender petals hanging down that look like fireworks, and the stately variety that resembles a rose, are also eye-catching.
Vice Chairman Tomio Kobayashi (74 years old) said, ''Last summer's intense heat did not allow the plants to grow well, and I was worried that the number of exhibits would decrease, but we ended up with the same number of pots as usual. We are enjoying the shapes of the trees and the various colors and shapes of the flowers. I want it," he said.
Until May 27th. 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (until noon on the last day). free entrance.
