On the evening of August 31, 2024, as Typhoon No. 10 approached the Kinki region, the rain stopped in Kyoto City and a brief sunny spell came. From the rooftop of the Kyoto Shimbun building in Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto City, the clouds surrounding the typhoon were illuminated by the setting sun and turned orange, creating a fantastic sight.

According to the Kyoto Regional Meteorological Observatory, cumulus, altocumulus, and cirrus clouds are thought to have appeared around the typhoon. The cirrus clouds that appeared at about 10,000 meters above the ground were moving at a considerable speed due to the typhoon.

Typhoon No. 10 was near Cape Shionomisaki in Wakayama Prefecture on the evening of August 31, and is expected to change course at a right angle to the north on September 1 and move north through the eastern Kinki region by September 2. In Kyoto Prefecture, as Typhoon No. 10 approaches, rain will intensify again from around noon on September 1, and there is a possibility that it will become a heavy rain warning level by September 2.
