京都三大祭りの一つ、葵祭が2026年5月15日の午前、京都市内で行われた。近衛使代（このえづかいだい）や斎王代など、平安装束をまとった約500人の行列が初夏の都大路を彩った。

京都市左京区の下鴨神社では、境内のおはらいとして馬が駆け抜ける「走馬（そうめ）の儀」が行われた。糺の森に設けられた馬場を順に走り、迫力あふれる神事に歓声が上がった。

A procession of approximately 500 people, including the Konoe-zukaidai (deputy of the Imperial Guard) and Saio-dai (deputy of the Imperial Princess), dressed in Heian period attire, adorned the city's main streets in early summer.
At Shimogamo Shrine in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City, the "Sōme no Gi" (horse racing ceremony) took place as a purification ritual for the shrine grounds. The horses raced one after another around the track set up in the Tadasu no Mori forest, drawing cheers from the crowds at the powerful and impressive religious ceremony.

교토 3대 축제의 하나, 아오이 축제가 2026년 5월 15일 오전, 교토시내에서 행해졌다. 근위사대(이 에즈카다이)와 사이왕대 등 평안장속을 걸친 약 500명의 행렬이 초여름의 도오지를 물들였다.
교토시 사쿄구의 시모가모 신사에서는, 경내의 오하라이로서 말이 달려나가는 「주마(そめ)의 의식」이 행해졌다. 대변의 숲에 마련된 바바를 차례로 달려 박력 넘치는 신사에 환성이 올랐다.
